Sore Throat Home Remedies

It is hard to swallow and your throat feels irritating, dry and just overall despondent. Having a sore throat is not enjoyable and can be pretty darned uncomfortable.

Here are a few home remedies for a sore throat you can use to instantly pacify the pain and make yourself feel better.

1. Build An Old Fashioned Warm Milk Home Remedy. This is a popular home remedy that many pledge works like a charm. You will need:

1 Cup Milk
1 Tbsp. Butter
1 Tbsp. Honey
Sprinkle Sugar

Drink it while it is very hot but be careful not to burn your tongue or mouth. This home remedy will coat your throat making it feel better, and the heat from the warm milk will help make the swelling go down.

2. Merge 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with an 8 ounce glass of water and drink down. To make it more palatable, you can add 1 tablespoon of honey.

3. Rinse your mouth with Warm Saltwater. Another one of the more popular home remedies for a sore throat is to make a saline solution to gargle with. Dissolve ½ teaspoon of salt with a ½ cup of warm water. Mix well, and then gargle. Doing this 3 or 4 times a day helps cut phlegm and helps reduce inflammation. Be careful not to swallow too much however because of the high sodium content. This should be used for gargling only.

4. Gargle With Listerine. Listerine is another great gargling solution. Simply gargle 2 or 3 times a day with Listerine mouthwash. If you share the mouthwash with someone else in the house however be sure to use a small clean cup and do not consume directly from the bottle or the cap just in case your sore throat is due to a cold and contagious.
